Acquisition
Akhal-Teke horses for sale.
Around 350 Akhal-Tekes live in France, out of roughly 6,600 worldwide. We breed them in Burgundy, two hours south of Paris, and we sell few horses each year. Every one of them is shown to you before anything is signed.

Papers you can check elsewhere
In a breed this small, the paperwork is the value. The French Akhal-Teke association keeps the studbook and handles passports for the breed, alongside the national horse institute. Jean-Baptiste Plain, who runs the stud, sits on its board. When we show you three generations of a horse's pedigree, you can verify it somewhere other than our own website.
A horse you have seen move
We do not sell from photographs. You come to Burgundy, you see the horse in the field, in hand, and under saddle where its age allows. Our 290 hectares exist for that: a horse shows itself in open ground, not in a corridor. We also recommend an independent vetting, and we make it easy to arrange.
Bloodlines that have been judged
At the 2025 European Championship, our stallion Gadaly d'Akhal was placed third best Akhal-Teke stallion, and our fillies Khiva and Yalka fourth and fifth in their class. The horses we produce come from those lines.
The golden coat
Gold is not an option box.
The metallic sheen comes from the structure of the hair itself, hollow and translucent, which reflects light instead of absorbing it. It is what makes people remember an Akhal-Teke after seeing one once. Not every Akhal-Teke is golden: the breed also comes in bay, black, cream and perlino.
One word of advice from a breeder. Colour photographs well and rides no better. Conformation, movement and temperament are what you will live with for twenty years, and they are only visible in person.
The price question
How much does an Akhal-Teke cost?
It deserves better than a figure thrown out without context. We wrote a full page on it, with what the European market actually shows and the six things that move a horse's value.

How it works from outside France.
Most of our conversations start by email or WhatsApp, in English. We send video of the horse working, its pedigree and its papers, and we answer the awkward questions before you book a flight. If the horse still interests you after that, you come and see it.
Transport within Europe is straightforward and we work with specialist equine hauliers. Beyond Europe, health requirements and quarantine depend on the destination country, so we settle those details together before any commitment. We would rather lose a sale than send a horse into a situation nobody prepared.
Tell us what you are looking for.
The age, the discipline, whether you want a horse to ride or a mare to breed from. We will tell you honestly whether we have it, whether it is coming, or whether another French breeder is the better answer.
